outrage!

How can we say we are a Christian nation . . . and yet the poor keep getting poorer and the rich keep getting richer?
This is an outrage.
How can we see ourselves as a model nation for the world . . . and yet not see that we are destroying the natural resources of our children and grand children through consumption and pollution at a faster rate than any other nation?
This is an outrage.
How can so many children starve everyday . . . and yet we be the most obese nation on earth?
This is an outrage.
How can we think we are a generous and giving people . . . and yet not think about what we see in the church parking lot on Sunday morning? . . . or the fashion show inside?
This is an outrage.
How can we be such a diverse country . . . and yet be the most segregated on Sunday mornings?
This is an outrage.
Could it be that we just call ourselves a Christian nation to make ourselves feel better?
The rest of the world sees it, why don’t we?
Who do we think we are?
Who are we really?
Maybe I should count the ways in which I participate in these outrages . . .
Who do I think I am?
Who am I really???
