hope

Hope can see the greatest potential of a child . . . fulfilled.

Hope is the first ray of sunlight at the beginning of a new day.

Hope is your smile . . . in my eyes.

Hope is that dream of equality voiced by Martin Luther King Jr.

Hope is real . . . so real that sometimes it is the only thing that sustains our lives.

In the valley of shadows and death, hope is that hand, reaching without words, walking alongside.

In life’s tunnel, hope keeps searching for that light at the end, no matter how long the darkness.

Hang on to nothing in life. It will all go away . . . someday . . . somehow . . . all of it . . . all of it except hope expressed in love and sustained by faith.

The despair of depression rips all hope from the heart.

The loss of something highly valued often destroys hope.

Hope is restored by coming alongside the hopeless . . . and just being there.

(see, the pain of others)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I have learned two lessons in my life: first, there are no sufficient literary, psychological, or historical answers to human tragedy, only moral ones. Second, just as despair can come to one another only from other human beings, hope, too, can be given to one only by other human beings.
~ Elie Wiesel
If you lose hope, somehow you lose the vitality that keeps life moving, you lose that courage to be, that quality that helps you go on in spite of it all. And so today I still have a dream.
~ Martin Luther King, jr.
“Hope – hope in the face of difficulty. Hope in the face of uncertainty. The audacity of hope! In the end, that is God’s greatest gift to us, the bedrock of this nation. A belief in things not seen. A belief that there are better days ahead.”
~ Barack Obama
Beware how you take away hope from any human being.
~ Oliver Wendell Holmes
Hope is a state of mind, not of the world . . . . Hope, in this deep and powerful sense, is not the same as joy that things are going well, or willingness to invest in enterprises that are obviously heading for . . . success, but rather an ability to work for something because it is good, not just because it stands a chance to succeed.
~ Vaclav Havel
It is difficult to say what is impossible – for the dream of yesterday is the hope of today and the reality of tomorrow
~ Robert Goddard
A leader is a dealer in hope.
~ Napoleon Bonaparte
Not only is another world possible, she is on her way. On a quiet day, I can hear her breathing.
~ Arundhati Roy
